ANZAC Day 2025

ANZAC Day

Is observed on 25 April each year to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who served in the Gallipoli campaign, their first engagement in the First World War (1914–1918). The campaign failed, but the endurance and sacrifice of those soldiers led to the creation of the “Anzac legend”. In 1920, Australia and New Zealand created ANZAC Day as an official holiday to honour those who had fought in the Dardanelles Campaign. Since then, it has been broadened to become a memorial day honouring all those who served and died in all wars and conflicts.

ANZAC Day 2025 in Collie was celebrated by young and old with well over three hundred attendees for the very early cold start at 5:40AM for the Dawn Service to over five hundred folks who lined the streets for the 11:00AM march and then Service at Soldier’s Park.

After the 11:00 Service many folks migrated to the RSL Club for hamburgers, chips, cold refreshments, the ever popular two-up and camaraderie of the family, friends and RSL Members.

A great day of commemoration and remembrance for those who served.
